The legend of the unfortunate fisherman

Punta Monaco is a protruding rock placed on the end of the Promontory, whose profile recalls that of a human face. From here a sad legend was born. It’s said, in fact, that a local fisherman used to throw nets in this stretch of sea, when he met, one day among the rocks, a beautiful girl and starts a beautiful love story.
The young woman was the daughter of two divinities who, couldn’t approve that relationship, for this reason they decided to petrify the unlucky young man. The girl, destroyed by pain, started endless crying and broke out, so that her tears ended down the rock forming a small lake located under the stone shape.
